how to fix peeling shoe lining
Each pair of shoes we buy, in time, will have one part of the lining peel off. This is a hard thing to stop, but with these simple tips you can stop it all together.

- Check if the rubber on your shoe is getting old and starting to break down. If so, rub Vaseline or petroleum jelly on the inside of your shoe to keep it from peeling any more than it already has. This should help a lot;

- Try putting rubber cement on the peeling areas to mend them back up; and
- Get rid of any liners that are too thin by replacing them with thicker ones. We recommend Adidas Climacool or Cascade inserts for this task.

You can also try giving your shoes a shoe shine on the inside, though sometimes liners are coated and this will make them come off.

Good luck. :)

He's right, you can use Vaseline or petroleum jelly on the inside of your shoes to keep them from peeling. Also, if you have shoes that are not made out of rubber, then you can dry paint them so that they last longer. Reply Delete

did one time have a pair of vans where my zipper broke from the bottom up, and i decided it best to change them since they were falling apart...so i bought some new ones and when walking in the hallway the bottom part ripped off again Reply Delete

I was just thinking about this after reading this article... i have a pair of vans that have the side seams peeling in a very specific place. I always use shoe polish because it seems to work better than the type of lotion you mentioned.
I was using Vaseline on the inside of my shoes, but really that stuff can get expensive... for now, i'll continue using shoe polish Reply Delete

I've had this problem before. A friend told me whether and how to fix it so I can FINALLY wear my shoes without telling people to look at my feet (that's what happened when my zipper broke).

So here's some things I do: 1. Rub Vaseline or petroleum jelly on the lining, because this is what causes the lining to peel 2. If it doesn't stop, try hand-sewing the lining on the inside of your shoe 3.

If that doesn't work, try getting a shoe repair shop to sew the lining back on for you. I find that this sometimes works better than even just trying to re-sew and fix your shoes yourself. Good luck :) Reply Delete
